Good Blog!!

I ated toooo much.

Curses!! I fear Thanksgiving has left an ugly reminder around my waistline. Not that it was svelte to begin with. I'm not fat--I'm supa-fluffy. In other news...Playing with penguins for the past three months has paid off. I got an "A" on my Animal Behavior paper. Yayy!! I was the only person to write a paper on birds. Maybe it broke up the mammal monotony.

Just for fun:

My Five Most Frequent Web Searches:

5. Needle Conversion
(Can never remember what my US needles are in mm)
4. Lion Brand
(trying to find out what I have on hand that will substitute for a finer yarn)
3. Knit or Knitting Blogs
(So I know that I am not alone in my insanity)
2. David Cross-the actor/comedian who is just too damn funny
(Trying to find out the next time he'll be on the TV)
1. Free Knitting Patterns
(I'm not cheap--I'm a college student)

Is it just me or do you see a disturbing pattern?

I thought so. My mom's worried about the David Cross thing, too.

Yeah...so sue me.

Okay, it's been almost two weeks since I last blogged. Or knitted. Had a lot of end of the semester stuff to take care of. TWO WEEKS LEFT of school. Then FINALS!! (Mixed feelings about that.) Then my intersession course the week of Christmas and New Years. I really know how to take a vacation, huh? My dad and my niece's birthday parties are this weekend. I have no present for either. Well, I have part of a present for Miss "M". (Her teddy bear and I are currently not speaking...he languishes at the bottom of my desk drawer until he learns how to be seamed correctly. Maybe by Christmas.)

It's a two-needle mitten!! Now, it needs a mate and a scarf friend. Maybe a hat. We'll see how the week goes. I'm thinking a hat for my dad too. In his fave team's colors, which I won't mention here 'cuz they are my school's sworn rivals. So much for showing support for his daughter, right? But...I love him anyway. Even if he is getting older.

Rainy day blah....

It's been raining here, let's see...um, forever. Okay, maybe not that long, but at least for the last week. Color me blah...got a big fat D on my botany test. Not happy. But I got a little knitting in so I feel some what better. Ain't got much else to say right now. Tired. Sleepy. Want to curl up under the covers on my bed and hide at least until tomorrow. However, I did want to show off my hat I am making that matches my sneakers. Both are too cute. But that's my humble opinion. That hat is my interpretation of a pattern in Hip to Knit and a skull pattern from a blog which I cannot find since I changed internet services. (If you're reading this and it's you, let me know so I can credit you appropriately.) La-ter.

AHA!!! I do remember where I found the skull pattern!!! It was here at Glampyre's beautiful blog. Duh!!

Yea!!! Happy-happy-happy Dance.

Wow...am now finally getting around my blog and adding some neat stuff. Got some links going, a weather pixie, and "my" *ahem* profile image up. Well, okay...it's actually my beloved kitty-kitty Butters whom I miss so much. I wish I could have him here at school. I guess if I got my own apartment I could, but then there's the rent thing, and the bills thing, and I just don't need that right now. I started my Gma's Christmas scarf. It's a fan and feather pattern in Lion brand's Jiffy (white) on size 15 needles. It's turning out very pretty. Also, I've got the body and head done on my niece's pink teddy bear for her 2nd b-day. Gotta get some stuffing and finish the appropriate appendages. And I gotta work on mom's afghan.

Here's some pics (I hope):

Let's Try It Again...

Sadly, I have to reach to a band from my childhood in order to name this post. Thank you, New Kids on the Block....thank you. (But not for reminding me how old I truly am.)

As the Holidays draw nearer and I celebrate one year of learning how to knit, I am creating this blog to keep track of the presents and the progress I am making. Hopefully, it won't be a total bore-a-thon and I will occassionally obsess about other things, such as my life, school, Mr. Show, and Mythbusters.

If you're reading this, thanks. I plan to upload pics and progress of most of my projects and provide links to any free patterns. My HTML skills are rusty, but as with knitting, practice makes perfect.

Happy Knitting!!
